Tea - from the plant Camellia sinensis - has many health benefits. Scarcely a month goes
by without a new study or finding on tea's preventative
and healing properties. Below you'll find a selection of the reported health benefits of drinking tea. It should be remembered that only "real" tea has these health benefits. Herbal teas do not contain any actual tea (ie: black tea, green tea, etc.) so do not have the same health benefits, although many herbs are beneficial in other ways.
It should also be born in mind that the majority of studies concentrate on green tea, but whilst green tea may have more antioxidants than, for example, black tea, that doesn't mean it's the only tea with health benefits. White tea actually has higher concentrations of antioxidants than green tea.
