1994 Menghai Zun Cha Brick
Generation Tea 250g Pu-erh Tea Cake
This tea was manufactured in the Menghai factory in Yunnan. It has been carefully aged, preserving its proper, smooth taste. This tea can be steeped 5-7 times with nice flavor. It is best to brew this type of Pu-erh kungfu style, as the taste does infuse rather quickly. Let steep for 1 1/2 minutes the first time, and about 30 seconds to one minute each time after. Let the later steepings sit a little longer. We hope to offer more special aged Pu-erh's, and hope you will start building your collection of special and rare teas. Store in a container that can breathe, and this tea will get better over time. This is classified as a cooked or processed Pu-erh because the leaves are fermented to their deep red color and then compressed. The tea is very compressed and looks like a green tea, although it consists of high grade leaves that are picked from plants that are known for their black tea. Said to be cooling and thirst quenching in the summer and stomach warming and cold preventing in the winter. Grown in the cold Xuefeng mountains and Anhua mountains. Also called 'Flower Tea' as the whole log looks like a flower as it is opened. Mellows with age, as we all should. 1998 (3.125 kg)

This giant Bird's Nest or Tuocha weighs 5 kilos (11 lbs) and is called a Golden Melon due to its size. It is great for drinking (just break a little off each time) or display. It is 14 inches wide and 9 inches high. In the house or a teashop this will surely turn heads. The tea is good and quite medicinal. It brews a pale red cup typical of high quality Pu-erh. The larger Melons tend to grow a lot of yeast over time which aids digestion and metabolism. We haven't found a cup big enough for the whole thing yet. Brews more than 2000 servings! Age it yourself to yield even better tea as the years pass. Many people in China collect Pu-erh, and real aged tea can become quite sought after and expensive.

Mini Tuocha Pu-erh (Birds Nest)
Generation Tea 2oz Pu-erh Tea Cakes
Tuocha Pu-erh - This tea is about the same grade as the loose leaf variety, but in addition, it is packaged in the oldest known single serving of tea. These small "bird's nests" are the right amount for a small, Yixing pot or a full English size teapot. If you use the large teapot you will have a weaker tea, but one that can easily be served to novice drinkers without the boldness of Pu-erh brewed in traditional Chinese (Gongfu) style. Use full boiling water with one Tuocha and let steep 4-10 minutes to allow the nest to gently break apart. Can be steeped 2-3 times.
