This tea is really a black tea from it's
level of oxidation. The uniqueness of this
variety is the deep and lasting smoky aroma.
This is a pine smoked tea that absorbs the
scent during the drying process. It had
been produced for centuries. Brew this like
a black tea with full boiling water with
a short steep of 1-2 minutes. It is a strong
tea, so at first use a small teaspoon of
dry leaves and work up from there. Can be
used two or three times. Grown in Fujian
Province and a fine grade of this famous
tea.

Lapsang Souchong is one of the most famous
teas in the world, originating in the Wu
Yi mountains of China. It is the only smoked
tea, and was invented by accident - soldiers,
who wanted to harvest a tea crop to make

They thought the crop was ruined but the
tea was sold to England, where a taste soon
developed for this unique smoky variety.

tea. This black tea is processed by withering,
rolling, oxidizing, and de-enzymizing (firing).
The skilled production produces a full flavored

subtle flavors of distant flowers and smokiness
appear. The top notes are complex and satisfying.
The leaves infuse quickly in full boiling
water. Steep for about two minutes, less
if brewed gongfu style. Try about one full
